Here's an overview of some of the work Glen created for her last few exhibitions.

Love in all Seasons

Totth Fairy

Inspired by Kandinsky's statement that children's art offers "an entrance to the deeper, spiritual meaning of things" Glen explored themes like fairies, monsters, pets and the love that lives in the home environment.

"The home offers its own unique kind of intimacy, its own kind of protective atmosphere that's incredibly precious when - as kids - we start venturing out into the big wide world.

"With Love in All Seasons I tried to convey a kind of dreaminess and happiness, tinged with a touch of humour. Still, there is also a sense that something dark or evil could easily creep in and disturb that idyllic, fairytale-like world. Just to keep in tune with the mood of our times"

Flight of Fantasy

Hope

"Taking Children's Art to the next level, I decided to start looking at mythical creatures like dragons and other animals that populate our dreams. You can see hungry crocodiles, a wise moa, and a rabbit dancing on the clouds. The colours are more primary, and the characters are more caricature-like. These paintings are bright and fun!

"Still, there's also the recurring theme of love that I wanted to explore further. I found inspiration in Chagall, using his violins and couples embracing while floating above the old village houses. These romantic fantasies proved to be popular sellers."

(Please note that the subtle nuances, detail and vibrant colours of the original paintings can't quite be replicated on your PC screen. The real thing looks much better!)
